For gambler’s it is dream to play at a casino where the house never wins. We all dream about such casinos, where every time you pull the grip of a slot machine, you win the jackpot. For one night, this dream came true for the people who happened to be the Bluff’s Run Casino in Iowa. They soon revealed that one casino machine had a whopping payout rate of 400% every time you put money into it. I’m not talking about a slot machine or even a video poker machine. Strangely enough, the casino machine I’m according to is a bill-changing machine.
When you put in a $100 bill into a bill-changing machine, you would obviously suppose that the machine will give you back five $20 bills. Luckily for the people who were at the casino that night, this machine did just the in reverse. People who tried to break a $100 got five $100s, instead of $20s. The secret was out rapidly, and people were lining up to “break” their $100s. The fail went hidden for about six hours, when the casino staff lastly realized that the machine is missing about $47,000!
As it turns out, one of the casino workers didn’t load the machine properly, which is why it was spitting out $100s instead of $20s. As a result of this event, the employee got fired from the casino. Though, an administrative law judge granted the employee full unemployment benefits, determining that there was no proof of foul-play and that nothing was done intentionally. Meantime, the casino management tried to go over the security tapes of that night in an effort to recover some of the money, but to no avail.
