Landbrokes bookmaker service has recently been working on researches concerning the future of Internet poker. In the last year, we’ve witnessed a six fold growth of its popularity. Furthermore, it appears that it is still on the increase.
The rise was predicted by the branch experts but no one expected those figures. It has been revealed that the gambling amount at worldwide online poker tables increased from £6m per day last January to more than £38m in December. Experts are shocked. Landbrokes claims to have over 40,000 poker-playing members. They admit that currently their site has more than 150 operating poker rooms and in the year of 2002 this figure was five times lower. In Great Britain, online gamblers stake alone 3 million pounds a day. And if the poker fever continues to spread like it did before, this year’s growth may at least level that of last year’s.
