The first display about gaming will take place at The Dome in Northgate this October. Gaming magazine, New Age Gaming, will organize the Gaming Event to present the latest PC and console games and technology gadgets. There will be local area network (LAN) with 650 points where anyone can come with their PCs and play against each other. “The game will be live commented in LAN, and this will make the country’s gaming rivalry stronger,” Michael James, editor of New Age Gaming said. There will be typical LAN games like Counter-Strike and Warcraft III, but also there will be a place to play older games. “In this area, players may play such classic games as Starcraft and Quake I.” If you are not interested in playing games, there are some other attractions for you like anime theatre, role- playing games and a gaming auction. James adds that the organizer would like some student theatre companies to show plays with little gaming element. “We have new ideas for an auction all the time. We are talking with Vivendi Universal, Electronic Arts and MegaRom, because we want to get some special things from abroad like game posters with autographs and some titles for collectors. We want to make gaming more popular in the country. We also need to show people what it is all about. We hope the display will present gaming as a sport for observers.”
